I grew up fishing for Crappie and Bass on Old Hickory Lake with my father and grandparents. It seems like painting wildlife was a natural fit for me. In 2001, I found a collection of freshwater fish images at a hunting exposition that inspired me to make images of fish. I initially began making paintings of different fish juxtaposed onto bright abstract backgrounds. Many of my early fish paintings are mixed media. In 2003, I completed my first collection of fish paintings. Over the years, I have eliminated some of the brighter backgrounds in favor of white.
