I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. Like many painters, I began to paint when I was young, growing up around artists in my family. I studied art at Rhodes College graduating with a BS in Studio Art in 1997. From 1996-2003, I ran a cooperative art gallery in downtown Memphis. We held monthly shows, as well as studio tours. I also worked as an art educator for eleven years in Shelby County and Davidson County. I taught in private, public and charter schools before I retired from teaching in 2010.
